Digital Voice Recorder for Great Interviews

I was reading an excellent interview with Liam Nesson in the latest issue of Esquire (I am the queen of getting free magazine subscriptions!) last night and it occurred to me that the writer of the interview did such a thorough and intense job. It also reminded me that I have noticed a big surge in job listings on Craigslist that ask for interview abilities of the writers they hire.

This was good news to me, for I was despairing that the age of the true interview was fading with news moving more toward online content. Great to know this is not the case. Interviewing experience is crucial for a good writer, and doing interviews is actually a lot of fun. But what tools make for a really great interview? I discovered one tool that I would highly recommend. This 510 Plus digital voice recorder will assure that you don't miss a word your interviewee has to say with its VOR recording ability.

Every writer should own a tape recorder, that's a given, but this mini voice recorder from Record Your Life has so many more capabilities than a simple tape recorder. High Quality Voice Recording One feature that stands out for me is that you can record a cell phone conversation. This ability is imperative for a good interviewer, for most folks, especially busy business people and VIPs, are always on the go and use their cell phones constantly.

Another of the many capabilities is that of being able to secretly record a conversation without the person on the other end knowing you are recording them. I don't think this is at all a practice interviewers should use, but if you think maybe your spouse is cheating, or you are a private detective, what a tool to have!

A great interviewer has an arsenal of tools, most importantly their ability to ask the right questions, but it pays to have a great digital voice recorder like the one offered by Record Your Life to make the process so much easier.

Be sure to check out the link above for a long list of all its features.
